May Nasr is a Lebanese singer. Her music style is influenced by some great Arabic singers like Fairuz, Zaki Nassif, Ahmad Kaabour, Marcel Khalifeh and Julia Boutros. This song "al-tareeq" is from her album 'Lil Ghali' in 2008.
English Translation : Where does this road lead... in the twilight of this day...? Where is the joy, the love, the tenderness?... In my mind songs still linger... Journeys to take... Tales to tell together... It’s too early to sleep and get lost in the dream.... Let slumber wait.... And together we will see where the road shall lead..... Companions we are.... Drawn close and drifted apart.... Welcomed and said farewell.... We follow the road... only to find that it is always a step ahead ...
An old song of Jadal. meen shaif habibi, who saw my lover? No Chinese translation this time. I am tired.lol
English Translation : and I'm waiting the night to go and see your eyes and bagging the sky to reveal you secret's art and I wish the luck to die, and never come back. I wonder your perfume without your existence and I fill the house roses until you came and I prayed to god to come and kiss your eyes I hope to never see you and the words fades from my mouth... just touch your shade who saw my lover
This song, bwatani (in my homeland), talks about wars... Terez Sliman is a Palestinian singer. Her work is influenced by many genres, but what makes her sound unique is the mix between traditional Oriental music, world music and Jazz. You can feel the sorrow of Palestinian people from her voice. And this one is Wasfi Massarani's version : He is the voice for the Syrians. Peace for the world. By the way, I tried to sing this song as well...the link below ismy recording. (I am too shy to embed it here. haha!!) It is my first time to sing in Arabic!! You can leave your comments! :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDNNi3qaDzI
This song was originally sung by Huda Hadad (Fairous' sister), but this singer is Sabine, I prefer her voice. :P
Bayni w baynak literally means "between me and you", but actually she was murmuring to the night, telling the night about her relationship with her lover...
I am in mood for Japanese today, so I wanna share this song with you. She is Natsukawa Rimi, an Okinawan singer. Her grandma is from Taiwan!lol Nada sousou literally means : "tears are spilling". It is quite popular in Taiwan, and some Taiwanese singers just covered it from Japanese into Chinese or Taiwanese. Her voice is really nice. Enjoy it!:) English Translation : (All derived from the Internet) I whisper “thank you”, as I leaf through this old photograph album, to one who always cheered me on, within my heart And should the memories of that smile I think of, come rain or shine, fade away into the distance They return in the days I search for a glimpse of your face, a stream of tears Almost a habit now, I wish upon the very first star Looking within the evening skies for you with all my heart The memories of that smile I think of, in sorrow or joy And if you can see me, from where you are I’ll live on, believing that someday we’ll meet again And should the memories of that smile I think of come rain or shine, fade away into the distance In loneliness and yearning, my feelings for you are like a stream of tears If only we could meet, if only we could meet, my feelings for you are like a stream of tears Chinese Translation : (Japanese lyrics is below )
Ha~~ Another song from Nancy Ajram. Sheikh el shabab! What does it mean? Sheikh means an exalted man among the society (maybe by his age or his social status), and shabab means young men, so sheikh el shabab means a man who is always a star in his group. I think "lady-killer" might be a suitable translation for this video. As for Chinese title, I will translate it as "萬人迷", which literally means a person who has 'ten thousand fans.' I like this hilarious video so much!lol
On account of my crazy love for black coffee, I decided to translate one of my favorite Taiwanese songs into Arabic.(It seems that there's no connection...lol) Jody Chiang is my favorite Taiwanese singer when it comes to 'Hokkein dialect' since my childhood. This song is just called 'black coffee', and the coffee is used to describe her love to her ex. She can't get him out of her mind! I translated it in to Shami dialect. (so tired of MSA...hahahaha) so enjoy it and feel free to correct me if you feel confused! :P
Sometimes we need some spices for our boring life, so we listen to decadent music... lol
Yay...Nancy Ajram!! The most famous Arabic superstar!! from Lebanon! I seldom listen to such mainstream Arabic pop, but Mashy haddy is really a very famous one. It was released in 2009 I think. Although I am not fond of her songs, this clip is quite cute and funny. (Well...her music videos are always hilarious.) Just like Haifa or others... so I don't care what they are singing about most of the time.
Okay, like it or hate it! ;p
Chinese Translation :
和我走在一起時你的眼神讓身旁所有人都融化
你不讓任何一個可愛的女孩逃過你這樣目光四射的雙眸
你忘了我也會嫉妒吧 若她們對你笑的話更是如此
你倒是挺陶醉 心都被她們帶走了
Yeah...I know... It is unusual for me to post this kind of Arabic songs... Haifa Wehbe!! Sexy diva!lol... Anyway I found this song randomly on youtube then I just repeated it more than 5 times...kinda addicted to it. hahahaha The lyrics is so hilarious that I should share it with you.
Bokra bfarjik! It is a sentence which you can say to someone when he or she is doing something you don't like. It literally means : Tomorrow I'm gonna show you! You can also say : ra7 bfarjik ba3dein! (I'll show you later!) Of course it is not formal Arabic.
Enjoy the video. sho! min! ism3! bokra bfarjik! lol...
Today I'm gonna share a Malay song with you. It is sung by Siti Nurhaliza & Hafiz Suip, as a theme song for a Malaysian drama "Adam and Hawa." (Never watched it before tho...lol) After translating it into Chinese, I find it tooooo romantic for me...hahaha!! I still prefer sad songs...;p
This is a local Taiwanese underground band called IGU. It was formed in 2007 and started writing songs and giving performances. I think their Chinese name is quite funny, for that "那我懂你意思了 " literally means : "Then I got what you mean!" All the songs from their latest album "原諒我不明白你的悲傷" are about parting, death, living, missing someone, and the helplessness... Today I'd like to share this song : "Forgive me for not understanding your sadness."(It is not that sad actually. lol) Enjoy it!! :) English translation : Do you remember? Do you remember? and I don't wanna talk about the beautiful craze anymore
Do you remember? Do you remember? In fact I'm kinda afraid to know how you have been as well Why is this world getting more and more strange? I know I shouldn't stop I remember I promised you... How many ordinary days have passed? How many tasteless meals have we had? It's still raining in this lonely winter The city at night is lonely as before I know I don't really have to miss something but... Just feel somewhat sorrowful for the lost years As for those who I had no time to say 'see you'... Will I see you again? Forgive me for not understanding your sadness I know it is enough to be sad like this We need more power to face tomorrow As for those who I had no time to say 'see you'... Will I see you again? (Well... I am too lazy to translate it into Arabic this time...hahaha!)
Another song from Majida El Roumi! The director of this clip is Nadine Labaki, a famous Lebanese movie director. (caramel) etazalt el gharam...etazala means retire or retreat ,and gharam means passion, love. I guess she means she's fed up with loving her habib. lol
This is one of my personally favorite Arabic songs. It's a very classic one from Nizar Qabani's poem - Kalimat. (words) The first time for me to listen to Kalimat was when I was in the junior year in uni...It did amaze me! Majida ElRoumi... I think everyone knows her! She's a very famous Lebanese singer since 1970s.
這首歌我實在無法把它翻成中文,中文造詣太差強人意了...sorry ~~
English Translation :
He tells me as he dances with me,
Words that aren't like any other words
He takes me up underneath my arm
And plants me in a cloud
And the black rain in my eye
Getting poured down with heavy drops...
He holds me with him... he holds me
To an evening on a pink balcony..
And I am like a little girl within his hand
Like a feather carried by the breezes
Ah.. Ah.. in his hands like a father carried by the breezes.
Ah.. Ah.. in his hands like a father carried by the breezes.
He gives me a sun... he gives me a summer.
He gives me a sun... he gives me a summer and a herd of swallows
He tells me... that I am his masterpiece
And that I worth thousands of stars
He tells me... that I am his masterpiece
And that I equal thousands of stars
And that I am a treasure... and that I am
The most beautiful portrait he had ever seen
Words... words... words... words
He tells me things that make me giddy
Which make me forget the dance floor and all the steps
Words that upturn my whole history
That make of me a woman in a few moments
He builds me a castle of illusions
I don't live in it, I don't live in it, and I don't live in it...
Except for a few moments.
Ah... And I return, I return to my table
I return, and I return to my table
Carrying nothing... Carrying nothing... except words
Words that aren't like any other words, Words that aren't like any other words
Here you go! Another work for Arabic translation from me...
This song is sung by Sally Yeh, called "the possibilities of Love". A sad song though.
