Natacha Altas is a Belgian singer who is famous for her fusion of Arabic and Western electronic music. She has Moroccan, Egyptian and Palestinian origin. That is why her music is mixed in those dialects. This song is about war...I think!
If you are interested, you can search a movie called "Amreeka" on youtube. It talks about a mother who took her son to America to start their new life. Full of Shami dialect!haha

JadaL - The Machine : الماكينه

A new single release(El Makina) of this Jordanian rock band 'Jadal'!

Nassam aleina el hawa is a popular song that everyone one knows in the Arab world. It was sung by Fairuz.

You can easily find tons of different versions of this song. The one I am posting here is an instrumental one without vocal, but it sounds much better. haha

Akher Zapheer - 一直都在 : دايماً موجود

This is a Jordanian rock band called Akher Zapheer, which means "last exhalation."(lol...?)
Dayman mawjood can be translated as "always there","always existent" or something like that.

Aziz Maraka - End of the World : بداية النهاية

Okay, so today is the said to be the end of the world? 
I am gonna share a nice song with you since I am lucky enough to stay here alive. lol This is Aziz Maraka's song "Bidaya al-nihaya." It sounds  kinda different from his former works in my opinion...

Nadine Labaki - Yemken law : يمكن لو

This song is called yemken law, literally means "if". From the movie "Where do we go now" by Nadine Labaki.

Siti Nurhaliza - Bukan Cinta Biasa : Not an Ordinary Love

這學期剛好在學馬來文，就順便跟大家介紹一首馬來文歌，這是馬來西亞歌后Siti Nurhaliza的成名曲，大概跟鄧麗君的月亮代表我的心一樣紅吧! 話說馬來文跟阿拉伯文的某些單字還真有某種程度的相似呢!! The translation will be English and Arabic. Enjoy!

Mashrou3 Leila is a Labanese band anyway, and this song is called Inni minih, which means "I am fine" in Shami dialect.

Arabic Word of The Day : Kathab (كذاب)

Salam aleikum! Susie is going to share her Amman story with you guys again!(It feels like Arabian Night somehow!lol) 

Well, I just heard that the price of gas and gasoline is getting higher and higher in Jordan recently...so it reminds me of those funny days when I lived there. Why??? Because the theme of this story is similar to the one I told you last time. It is all about GAS!!!!

Samo Zain - I Can't : مش قادر

Samo Zain (سامو زين) is a Syrian singer growing up in Kuwait, but I thought he is Egyptian. hahahahaha This song is also called msh qader, but you can feel the different styles of their melodies. Both are nice!  Samo's version is more Oriental to me.

I have nothing to say, it's just beautiful!! Listen to it!

Yazan Al Rousan - I can't : مش قادر (Mesh Gader)

Yazan Al Rousan(يزن الروسان) is an originally Jordanian singer, born in Amman in 1977, then got his B.A. in the Jordan Academy of Music in 2002. Then he moved to Tunis for his master in musicology. Aspirin, is his latest project. The concept is to create a new genre, uncommon style and to play really joyful and funny music inspired from usual life aspects.

This song is just refreshing! Again, it's in Shami dialect so I understand it better.:P Correct me if the translation is wrong please.

Souad Massi - No One But You : غير انت (Gheir Inta)

Souad Massi (سعاد ماسي) is an famous Algerian singer. Her music displays Western musical style influences such as rock, country or the Portuguese fado but sometimes incorporates oriental musical influences and oriental instruments like the oud as well as African musical stylings. She sings in Algerian Arabic, French, and occasionally English and Kabyle (Berber language), often employing multiple languages in the same song. Mike Massy - The Color of Your Eyes Changed : غير لون عيونك

Today I am gonna introduce you a talented Lebanese singer called Mike Massy. This song "Ghayyer Lawn Ouyounak", which was released in 2012 from his album "Ya Zaman", totally drives me crazy. His voice is so soft and magnetic! I can't help replaying it on my laptop these days. He's really something!

Aziz Maraka - Not saying sorry to you : ما بقولك آسف

This music video was filmed in the concert BAB (Bands Across Borders) in Amman, 2011. It is one of my favorite songs of Aziz Maraka. This song is talking about a guy who wanted to end a relationship with a girl. 

I can't totally translate it into proper English since it's all in dialect, so if the translation is in orange it means that I am not sure about the meaning. lol 

Arabic Word of The Day : Haaris (حارس)

It is an embellished but hilarious story, adapted from my personal experience when I was living in this surprising city Amman, in 2011.

As you've known, it is inevitable for those who live abroad to encounter some troublesome situations in their daily life...Thus, I am going to share a story which made me feel embarrassed at that moment, but I couldn't help giggling when I think of it till now, but before cutting into the topic, I have to inform you about some facts.

Amr Diab - What if ? : وماله؟

今天會分享這首歌是因為它的鋼琴前奏很吸引我，完全不令人討厭! 歌名則是叫做we malo, 在埃及方言意指"假使"的意思。Amr Diab是埃及的大明星，已經紅了很長很長的一段時間，他出過至少10張專輯吧，但我只喜歡這首~哈哈!

話說阿拉伯語本身因為使用地域廣的緣故而發展出很多的方言(Ammiya)，方言跟標準阿拉伯語(fusHa)不太一樣，fusHa使用於古蘭經、文學、新聞媒體等正式場合；然而在在日常生活中，阿拉伯人是只講Ammiya的。

Aziz Maraqa - I Wanna Go Back to Amman : رجعوني على عمان

好想回安曼啊!今天要介紹的是一個約旦歌手!Aziz Maraka (عزيز مرقة) is one of my personally favorite  Jordanian singers. He makes alternative Arabic music, which is different from traditional Arabic music. I love him~~~

This song "I Wanna Go Back to Amman" describes the inner feelings of a person who is away from his country, Amman, Jordan. 

I don't understand the lyrics properly since it's written in dialect, but it describes my feeling somehow because I miss that city so much at this moment.lol (I will translate the sentences which I understand. Please forgive me if I leave a lot of blanks there.lol)

Elissa - Remember : فاكر

Elissa是我最愛的阿拉伯女歌手~~  有興趣的人可以去搜尋她早期的專輯，有拉丁音樂的風格(不像傳統阿文歌那樣令人倒彈)，我推薦بدي دوب跟كلمة حب。 Remember (faker) 這首歌來自同一張專輯，超好聽，沒有那種像蒼蠅在嗡嗡叫般的轉音XD

Elissa - In Your Eyes : في عيونك

Fi Oyounak是黎巴嫩女歌手Elissa 2012年發的新歌，我覺得很好聽(至少前奏不錯)，就醬，enjoy~

Studying Abroad in Jordan : 我的海外進修經驗-約旦

對於一個外語學院的學生來說，出國遊學總是令人心生嚮往的一件事，加上我本身主修在台灣較為小眾的阿拉伯語，三年來在系上教授專業的指導下已打下了該有的語言及文化常識，因此覺得大四這一年應該親身到阿拉伯國家訓練自己的語言能力以及體驗當地的風土民情，於是我在大三下學期的時候毅然決然地參加了學校舉辦的獎學金考試，也幸運考取約旦獎學金。

然而，當大家聽到要我去約旦遊學的時候都驚呼連連，畢竟阿拉伯國家在大家的眼中是個充滿戰火的地區。確實，2011年是動盪的一年，阿拉伯之春從突尼西亞開始延燒到整個中東地區。我非常「有膽識地」選在時局最混亂的一年出發，從去年的9月11號台北出發，經過兩次的轉機曼谷、杜拜，最後才到達約旦首都安曼，我的中東留學之旅就此展開。
